OK, I took the plan from Cool Runnings (they are the originators of the Couch to 5K plan) that is in the pdf here, and I turned it into a race prep calendar as a pdf. This one is customized to prep in 10 weeks for the Peoria Race for the Cure, 2010.
Now, I wasn't sure what to do on the off days and I had considered doing a workout video of some sort. Then, I hopped in the treadmill and had several brilliant discoveries:
1. I am way out of shape, even from where I was.
2. My left knee (which I hurt on the icy steps) still has some muscle pain (thankfully no *knee pain*, just muscle pain, I think from gingering it and now it is all discombobulated. .
3. My leg felt a LOT better after a brisk 20 minute walk at 3.0 mph (I know it is slow, but it felt pretty brisk)
It is my nature to push myself too hard. It just is. I was trying to do the day 1 plan and knew after about 2 minutes that there was no way. So, and I am tremendously pleased with myself, I decided to just do a 20 minute walk. Strangely I had none of the other mysterious knee pain from before. Weird.
So, I think I am going to do my non-plan days as just walking. 20 minutes at first, then to 30, then 40, then 50 (since being able to go for 50 minutes is our goal for the race).

Sounds like a good plan! Glad your knee is feeling better! BIRD by BIRD!
Oh, the calendar pdf link doesn't work. It says the "share with" settings aren't correct. :0
I think I got the calendar pdf thing fixed. Let me know either way since I am tinkering aroud with a new system for hosting documents.
