Well, last night I didn't walk. Rats. I watched a movie but was really tired so I rested and thought I would walk later. Then the girls didn't sleep well. I ended up tending to Audrey most of the night. So I didn't walk. BUT I am hoping to salvage this by going to the zoo today and walking more than a mile this morning THEN walking this evening. It is a little tricky but I am going to count it. And I will walk for the FIRST 25 minutes of the show, not the last. Lesson learned.
Now, tomorrow and Sunday I am working with students and all three times I am meeting with them in Panera. Panera = free soda refills. Yesterday we ate at Taco Bell and there was just no good option. *sigh* It is just as Rose warned, giving up soda leads to fewer choices at restaurants.
I feel good about the start we have made but I realize that I really need to tackle food. It really is the trifecta: exercise, drink, and food. And honestly I think I am avoiding the (no pun here) the 600 pound gorilla in the room. I am good with LESS soda, mostly water, but there are just going to be times of necessity. If I never bring it home, only in restaurants, that sort of thing. But I think I have been using soda partially as a way to avoid food. *blek* Something to think about for next week.

Well, I don't agree with Rose.. I don't believe giving up soda=fewer choices at restaurants. Especially since you have your water bottle! I take my water bottle EVERYWHERE with me. It has become something I must have when I leave the house.. keys-check, purse-check, water bottle-CHECK! It fits perfectly in the cup holder in the truck. If I'm going to eat fast food.. for example Taco Bell (my fav) I'll try to order 'good'. Lately it's been a couple fresco tacos and beans with no cheese or red sauce. That's IT! No need to waste money or calories or sugar intake on a soda, because you already have your drink! :) EASY! When going to a sit down restaurant (esp one where you may be concerned on the quality or taste of 'their water', same thing. Take your bottle with you! They really don't care if you bring in water! :) Just tell the waitress when it's your turn, 'nothing thanks, I brought water'. EASY! When going to a nicer restaurant where I trust their water, I don't take in the bottle, but order water with lemon. Try making it a habit to carry your bottle with you! It's easy! ...just don't forget to take it with you when leaving the restaurant, I've almost forgot mine a couple times. ha ha :)
