About a year ago, I bought the best pedometer I've ever had. I was in school and there would be clinic days at the 'big hospital' that I would feel like all I did was walk from one end to the other. So I was curious to see how much I really was walking. It's made by Omron and it's the most accurate and advanced pedometer I've ever had. I keeps track of steps, aerobic steps, distance, calories burned, and fat burned. It comes with software for your computer that uses all the info collected and organizes it into graphs. Daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. It keeps track of daily and weekly totals and compares them to the goals that you set for yourself. It's totally amazing and fun to use! I just need to remember to use it more! Since graduating and being unemployed, a lot of days have gone by that I sit in the house and play farmtown and watch movies and don't walk more than 300 steps that day! yikes! From what I read, a person should walk 10,000 steps a day! I was doing that in school most days, but now...well, not so much. I have been wearing my pedometer to the gym, but since my jogging stride is different than my walking stride, the distance is not as accurate, but my aerobic steps are through the roof! My goal is to wear it more often to keep track of daily steps. I'd love to make it back up to 10,000 before spring comes. :)

Wow that thing is awesome!
I remember reading that Roger Ebert (the movie critic) lost a ton of weight (near 100 pounds I thought) by wearing a pedometer and walking 10,000 steps.
i would imagine that unless it is a treadmill day I am closer to 300 than 10,000 :-)
